Jon Cryer, known for his role in “Two and a Half Men,” recently addressed his complicated relationship with former co-star Charlie Sheen. In a February 2024 interview on “The View,” Cryer acknowledged Sheen’s personal improvements but expressed reluctance about collaborating professionally due to past challenges. He stated, “I love him, I wish him the best, he should live in good health for the rest of his life, but I don’t know if I want to get in business with him for any length of time.”
Cryer reflected on Sheen’s departure from “Two and a Half Men” in 2011, attributing it to Sheen’s behavior, which he felt disrupted the show’s success. He noted that despite Sheen’s reconciliation with creator Chuck Lorre, the impact of those earlier issues lingered. Cryer remarked, “Charlie was like the highest-paid actor in television. Yet, he blew it up.”
In his 2015 memoir, “So That Happened,” Cryer delved deeper into their relationship, discussing how Sheen’s struggles affected their dynamic on and off the set. He described Sheen’s erratic behavior and its impact on the show’s environment, stating that Sheen’s actions were influenced by a significant drug dependency.
While Cryer wishes Sheen well personally, he remains cautious about revisiting their professional relationship, emphasizing the importance of stability and mutual respect in any potential future collaborations.
